University of Europe Fees and Master's Courses for Indian Students

A two-year master’s at University of Europe starts at €8,158 a year in tuition. The one-year track starts at €9,263. Each headline fee tells only part of the story, because several extra costs show up later. This guide walks through the full fee structure and the master’s courses on offer. It also covers the entry rules you should check first. Readers weighing a master’s degree in Germany at a private university will get the most from it.

What is University of Europe, and is it a recognised German university?

University of Europe for Applied Sciences, usually shortened to UE, is a private university of applied sciences. It was formed in 2017 when two older schools merged. Those were the BTK University of Art & Design and the BiTS University of Business. The university describes itself as one of the few system-accredited private universities in Germany. It also lists membership of AACSB, an international business school body.

Its campuses sit in Berlin, Hamburg and Iserlohn, with a further campus in Dubai. Programs are grouped into art and design, business and sport, tech and software, health and psychology, and dual study. Applied sciences means you spend more time on projects, internships and practice than on pure theory.

The university also claims that 93% of its graduates find a job within 12 months of finishing. Treat that as the university’s own figure, and ask how it is measured. A claim like that is only useful when you know who was counted

What does a master's at University of Europe cost?

UE lists its master’s fees as “from” prices per year, and the amount changes with how long you study. The table below shows the official figures next to a rough total tuition, which is my own arithmetic.

Shorter tracks cost more per year but less overall, because you pay for fewer years. The MBA prices appear under EU applicants on UE’s page, so ask what applies to you as a non-EU applicant. Terms and conditions apply to every figure, and UE offers savings depending on your situation.

Tuition is only one piece of your first-year budget. Germany expects you to show €11,904 in a blocked account for a student visa. Add that to a one-year MBA at the listed price and you reach about €21,540. That figure still leaves out extras like a semester ticket.

Sticker prices can mislead in both directions. A low yearly figure looks friendly until you multiply it by the course length. Yet a higher figure looks heavy until you see it covers one year instead of two. Always compare total tuition, not the yearly number alone.

Which master's courses does University of Europe offer?

UE’s master’s range is wider than many students expect. One portal lists 24 master’s degrees offered by UE across its campuses. Course lists change, so treat the headings below as a guide and confirm each program on UE’s site.

Start with the MBA, which is the most visible option. The full-time 60 ECTS MBA takes one year and runs in English. According to UE’s brochure, it starts in January, March, June or September. Longer 90 ECTS MBAs come with a specialisation. Listed options include diplomacy, international business, marketing management, project management, financial management, investment banking and management consulting. UE also lists MBAs in sustainable water management and digital technology.

Sport and events form another strong area at UE. International Sport & Event Management is a Master of Arts taught in English. It suits students who want to work in leagues, clubs, agencies or event companies.

Design applicants can look at New Media Design, Innovation Design Management and Generative Design & AI. These programs accept students from varied creative and business backgrounds. A portfolio matters for most of them.

Psychology and economics also appear in some listings. Those include Master of Science programs in Psychology (Coaching & Counselling), Clinical Psychology (Rehabilitation & Geronto) and Entrepreneurial Economics. Some of those listings may be older, so confirm they are still offered before you shortlist them.

Choose by career goal, not by title. A 60 ECTS MBA suits someone with work experience who wants speed. Someone who wants a clear subject path will prefer a specialised master’s of arts or science.

Is University of Europe worth it for a master's?

Compare it honestly with the public route. A public master’s usually means fees of a few hundred euros per semester. Places are competitive, though, and often need strong grades. Your profile decides how realistic that route is.

UE sells speed and a clear structure. English-taught programs, one-year tracks, several start months and a career centre are all part of the package. You pay for that convenience, so it suits students who want a clear path, or whose profile may not win a competitive public place.

The fit weakens when your budget stops near the blocked account amount. In that case, spend your early effort on public programs and treat UE as a backup.

Graduation also opens a useful door. Germany offers an 18-month residence permit after graduation to look for work. That window can help you recover the cost, but no university can promise a job.

How can you bring the cost down?

UE lists a saving for academic merit, and the amount depends on your grade point average. It also offers a 50% saving if you have just finished a bachelor’s at UE or belong to its alumni. A refer-a-friend scheme pays €500 to you and €500 to the friend you refer. Price advantages and scholarships cannot be combined, so compare them before you choose.

The university also awards partial scholarships each semester for one year. Applying usually needs a motivation letter and sometimes creative work, depending on the scholarship. Apply as soon as you are accepted, because deadlines pass quickly.

Students from India can use GlobCred, an external provider that UE lists for education loans. Its listed interest range is 7% to 12% a year, subject to approval. Read the loan terms carefully, because that rate adds up over two years.

German student support, called BAföG, rarely helps students on a study visa. UE’s page says holders of a study residence permit are not entitled unless they meet another listed condition. Do not plan your budget around it.

Payment partners are the last piece. UE works with Flywire and TransferMate so you can pay tuition in many local currencies. The university says Flywire offers savings on exchange rates. Compare their quotes with your bank before you send any money.
